|Breastfeeding Center of Wilmington
The Breastfeeding Center of Wilmington encourages and supports all new mothers with compassionate care, quality service, and the most up-to-date information on lactation available. Our goal is to assist new moms with breastfeeding and to answer any questions that may arise. We want the best for mom and baby and we are here to support and lend a helping hand if needed.
We pride ourselves on our education for the professional community as well as our parents; bringing them the most current researched-based information. We strive to empower all mothers with the most current information, knowledge and confidence in order for them to have a successful breastfeeding experience. We serve as the Breastfeeding Resource Center for the Cape Fear Area that educates, supports, guides and encourages each mother as she learns to nurture her baby.
Our staff, including IBCLC’s (International Board Certified Lactation Consultants) and CLE’s /CLEC’s (Certified Lactation Educators and Counselors) can offer expert advice so many women need to successfully breastfeed their infants. Our CLE’s /CLEC’s have been through an accredited program through the AARC (Accreditation and Approval Review Committee) on Education in Human Lactation and Breastfeeding. As skilled professionals, we design & instruct educational programs on breastfeeding, organize support groups for new mothers/families and provide individual lactation consultations at our Center or in the home.
At the Breastfeeding Center we provide an environment that is friendly, where parents can bond with other parents and share their experiences. We value each and every one of our families and believe that this kind of support is a good investment in our community and future.
